So

Inbetween work for dad and work for christine, I've had graphic design work done in CLASS. Exciting.

So basically, this is a design I did for the Westford Teen Arts Council Compliation 2007 CD...I think it came out sorta pretty.
I had a good ol' time playing with color and text on this one.

Then, this is a poster design I did for a fake concert date for The Format. It was sorta a quick project, and there are definitely some things I would have changed...but I'm halfway pleased with it.

This week was so intensely busy! I apologise for non-updating-ness...

But

I did do some nice sketches and a cool crumpled-paper project, and I'm working on a few collages and some charcoal drawings and I'm just so surrounded by art! It's fantastic. Not to mention more graphic design work...I entered a CD design in the WTAC contest.

But I'm waiting on a scanner, so I've just got old GD stuff to show.

This is a label re-design I did for polar water, it was actually one of the more significant projects we've had...I'm not sure how fond I am of it, but I think it ended up okay.

What's going on, cool cats?

I just got back from DC...

I've got a shitload to share!
A giant update is coming for my regular journal...

I've also got a bunch of the stuff I've done in first semester graphic design...
I want to go in chronological order, but I can't remember which projects came first...

But this one was one of the earlier ones...
It's a pos/negative space exercise, that was done really quickly, but I think it came out sorta funky/interesting...I dunno though. Maybe not?
It's a cheesy word play on "Bird house", I guess, but more abstract.

I hate markers.

Well

I hate BAD markers. Good markers are awesome, and work fantastic, and come up with pretty art. Sharpies are NOT good markers. First of all, there are no skin colors, and they're pretty much unblendable. And they have the WORST FUMES EVER.
So this was a trial of doing art with markers. It came out pretty wierd looking with yellow skin and all. But sorta cool technique of shading.

If I had a billion dollars, I'd buy THIS. I know, Prismacolor is a huge corporation that rips off artists, but the truth is that they make very very good colored pencils and markers, for a only semi-rediculous price.
And Sakura's Pigma Microns are also very nice inking pens. I have a few of those, in black, and absolutely LOVE THEM. They do a beautiful job of detail work...

ALSO

There's a meteor shower tonight...Who wants to join me on my roof?

PS: I dunno if this is art, but it's some photomanipulation I did for my regular journal's layout...

I wish I had photocreds, but I don't remember who took the picture...eek!

It's the girls from AZURE RAY.

I'm going to DC!

Exciting adventure, no?

I'm going to go to the national art museum and take a bunch of pictures! ! ! !

I've done a lot of art, but all of it was given away before I could take pictures! (dammit!) oh well...I did my uncle a pretty colored pencil on watercolor paper, and I also did a all-white-object still life with Buddhas
and eggshells.
So more stuff from last year Ceramics I!

It's a very very crooked vase...I made it with slab method...but it's sorta cool because it had this wierd glaze that got messed up and bubbled, so it's got this awesome texture. Unfortunately, I suck at working with clay, so it leans over to one side and can't hold water...

The flowers in it look like black roses, but I swear they're not ACTUALLY black roses. They were red, at one point...I stole them from the centerpiece at prom last year, and then hung them upsidedown and dried them...and they turned ugly black. But I still love them, and so they remain in that vase.

This weekend was crazy...

Keene...Killington...Stow...

Rocking out in three states and picking out the best damn properties on the markets...

...But in artistic news, I got NOTHING done, except that I chose my subject for my racist still-life...

So today I've got some some more ceramics from CERAMICS I, WOOT WOOT.

Now that I finished with my Calendar drawing, I've got a white still-life and a few other pieces finishing up nicely.
But while I do those, I figured I'd post some of my shit from Ceramics last year.
Last year, instead of taking gym like I was supposed to, I took Cermaics I. Basically, we could do whatever we wanted.

So I did a maraca. It's a phiiiish.

Woot. This weekend was productive.
I sorta lost my art studio for a while, because we're getting AC/a new heating
system installed this week. And the bulk of the work is to be done in the basement, so it had to be emptied.

I was sad, because it freaking took me like five hours to get that room clean last weekend...and now I'll have to redo it. BLEH.

So, this is my 2006 Calendar submission. It took the shortest amount of time of any of my calendar drawings, and probably is one of my favorites...
...the picture doesn't do it justice, trust me.
She's adorable.
